Location: Volcanalia -winery & farm- Gambellara -Italy-
Project: ASA Studio Albanese
Lamps: OLEV
On the hills of the Lessini Mountains, between Vicenza and Verona in Italy—where an ancient volcano once shaped the basalt rocks of the landscape—Asa Studio Albanese Architects transformed the remains of a ruin into Volcanalia, a minimalist and elegant winery that celebrates the volcanic origins of its land and wines.
The winery is illuminated by the Italian OLEV lamps.
Lighting the “black space”
During the day, natural light floods in through the large windows; at night, darkness reigns absolute.
To preserve the purity and essentiality of the design, no hanging fixtures—such as chandeliers—were to be introduced.
The solution came with Beam Master Track 60 spotlights by OLEV: track-mounted or ceiling-fixed between wooden beams.
Hand-painted with a liquid finish, they present a super-matt, almost soft-touch surface.
A special internal filter divides the beam into countless micro-rays, eliminating glare and unwanted reflections, while the adjustable heads allow the light to be directed exactly where it’s needed.
