Black and gold spotlights, meticulously hand-painted and featuring an adjustable zoom for the light beam, characterize the OLEV lamps that illuminate Alea Resort in Bad Orb, Germany. This project was honored with the Kyoto Global Design Award in the ‘environment’ category.

Occupying an area of 5,200 m², this contemporary German “apartment house” is illuminated by Italian lighting.

The project is marked by the signature of the PLAJER + FRANZ project gmbh studio, which chose OLEV lamps to illuminate the expansive interior spaces featuring variable-height ceilings that extend up to 7 meters .

Architect Alexander Plajer and his team at P+F project GmbH envisioned an inviting yet sophisticated atmosphere, using wood for the interior walls and ceilings.

OLEV’s products stood out from the start with their technical perfection and quality standards.

No other lighting brand can deliver such quality and flexibility, especially for ceilings over 5 meters.Architect Plajer explained.

OLEV’s dynamic lighting strips and Beam Master Track Zummy spotlights, featuring adjustable zoom and focus control, enabled the team to create the perfect ambiance throughout the resort’s asymmetrical spaces.

“It wasn’t just the design of the luminaires but also their perfectly adjustable zoom and focus control function that transformed the space,” Mr. Plajer noted.

The lighting is simply outstanding. The design and finish of the spotlights are almost too beautiful to be confined to the ceiling.

The project received the Kyoto Global Design Award in the category of ‘environment.’
Congratulations to architects PLAJER + FRANZ project gmbh for realizing this innovative construction.
